the art of cleaning history

Art of cleaning began in September, 2001. The window cleaning company was based out of Puerto del Rosario, Fuerte Ventura. Fuerte Ventura is one of the Canary Islands, about 100 kilometers off the coast of Morocco.

I came up with the name when my customers started calling me "el artista", and "picasso" from my artsy way of cleaning windows!

I built the company from scratch. I went from having 0 customers to over 100 in less than 2 years. We were and still are the window cleaning company of choice for the Centro Atlantico (Fuerte Ventura's first Shopping Centre). With time, the company branched out to residential, and office cleaning.

In 2004, I decided to sell the company to James Brown (current owner and operator). My wife and I moved to Honduras for a time to do volunteer work.

In 2005, I started the art of cleaning in Montreal, Quebec (Canada). Once again, I canvassed the streets for new accounts. From 2005-2007, the a.o.c.'s growth was substantial. Our customer list grew to over 200 retailers, and 100 residential customers. The Redpath Lofts Complex (over 150 units), is one account that relied on the a.o.c. for all of its window cleaning needs.

In 2007, I sold the Montreal chapter to several of my trusted contractors.

From 2007-2009 my wife and I moved to the Dominican Republic (www.flickr.com/photos/ledaydreamer/ click on Paraiso). Sunny days, with no worries! Some one has to do it!

November, 2009 the art of cleaning is once again alive and well, here in Nanaimo, British Columbia! For all of your window cleaning needs, be it commercial or residential, contact me at (250)797-4262 or email : artofcleaning.nanaimo@gmail.com!
